My little project

Chad had some old furniture that we (well, it was really just me) wanted to update. So, off I went to Lowe's for supplies and here's what happened....

  1. I thought I posted a comment yesterday, but guess I don't know what I'm doing! Anyway, the furniture looks super. Did you paint it or stain? Looks like a real pro did it!

  2. Well, that's a long story....I used a really sticky primer made for wood that has already been treated (I didn't want to try to sand all of that!), and I asked the Lowe's paint "experts" which paint I should use on furniture. Whatever they gave me never really took well after the first coat (it was really sticky - and yes, I made sure it was dry between coats), so I had to add a clear protectant coat on top of the sticky paint. It's still not quite right. For example, if you put the newspaper on top of the dresser, it's likely that you can read the headlines on the dresser even after you remove the paper. So, we just don't really put anything on the dresser! But at least it looks good....
